From 2010-11, two residents of Atlanta, María, an undocumented house cleaner from Veracruz, México, and John Turnbull, writer and academic editor, chronicled in a WordPress blog their attempts to learn English together in letters to Bono of Irish band U2. This was an ongoing experiment in curriculum development and in advocacy, done hand in hand, mano en mano, poco a poco. (Note: María’s name has been changed to preserve anonymity.)
